Tools4Teachers is excited to announce that we will be holding a mathematics workshop, with links to oral language and vocabulary in 2021. We’ll be working with Katrina Millward, who is an AUT Evaluative Lecturer, and Mathematics Writer / Quality Assurer for Wave Length.

Principles to apply to mathematics lessons that work!

This workshop is aimed at any teacher / teacher aide who plans, teaches and assesses mathematics at various levels.

It will cover:

  • The principles and practices that are proven to work and allow learners deep conceptual understanding, fluency and the ability to problem solve in mathematics
  • Consider what have been successful models in other high performing jurisdictions based on research and proven success
  • Practical strategies to implement immediately into your classroom lessons
  • Explicit teaching of vocabulary

The workshop will include looking at Aotearoa’s identity in mathematics.

The cost for Principles to apply to mathematics lessons that work!. workshop is $180 plus GST per teacher. Teacher aides can access funding – have a look at for more details.
