Professional Development

Is your school looking to improve literacy achievement in 2020?

If any of these statements are pertinent to your school we can support you with improving literacy achievement:

  • We need to enhance our literacy programmes (writing, reading or ESOL) to raise literacy achievement

  • We need to be able to specifically identify and address the oral language needs of our students

  • Explicit and structured oral language teaching across the school is not happening

  • We need to use our literacy assessment information more effectively to meet students needs

  • Our teachers need support to effectively meet the needs of English Language Learners (ELLs).

  • Our students have limited vocabulary knowledge and we'd like to address this area

  • We want to incorporate digital tools and opportunities into our literacy programmes

  • We're not sure if our ESOL programme is delivering accelerated progress in English acquisition, or if it is structured in the most effective way to achieve our goals

  • The literacy leaders in our school need support to develop their skills with leading literacy

  • Some of our teaching could be more culturally responsive
